Honoring Zoë and All Beloved Pets on National Pet Memorial Day

On the second Sunday in September, pet lovers come together every year to observe National Pet Memorial Day. It's a day when we pause to remember and pay tribute to the four-legged family members who have touched our lives profoundly.

The Heartache of Loss

This day holds a special place in my heart, as it serves as a reminder of the joy and love that my beloved Shih Tzu, Zoë, brought into my life. Zoë left us in November 2020, a victim of congestive heart failure. It was just a week after Mom lost her beloved Beagle, Bounder. Our hearts were shattered. Living thousands of miles apart, mom and I spent hours on the phone consoling each other. Crying. Crushed. Heartbroken. Amid my grief, I knew I had to channel my sorrow into something that would keep Zoë's memory alive.

Thus, Allynn's, my greeting card company, was born. Each card we create carries a piece of Zoë's spirit, her vibrant personality, and the boundless love she gave us. We aim to connect with fellow pet lovers and bring them joy and, hopefully, some laughter.

The Birth of a Purposeful Venture

One of the core principles of our company is to give back to the animal community. We believe in the importance of work that improves the lives of animals, just as Zoë improved ours. In this spirit, a portion of profits from the sale of all Allynn's  products are donated to organizations who work to improve the lives of animals and inspire communities to be more compassionate and recognize the intrinsic value of every life.
